During the month of May 2014 my wife and I were invited to go to Madagascar during August 2014 to teach on the modern day significance of the shofar or ram’s horn and to do strategic prophetic intercession as we were led by the Holy Ghost.

After prayer and confirmation through the Spirit, we accepted the invitation from Gisela Joubert.

Gisela, based in South Africa, is in full time ministry and flows powerfully in the prophetic. As a prophetic teacher, she and her husband Gideon have ministered all across Madagascar over the past 20 years, as well as various other African countries.
She is currently in the process of establishing a prophetic school in Madagascar, of which the building in the capital city of Antananarivo is in an advanced stage of completion.
During July 2014 Gisela called us and told us that they were told that exactly a year before, a visiting prophet prophesied that a year from then, a man will come to the island to sound a shofar, and the sound of that shofar will usher in a big move of God throughout the whole island. My first teaching on the significance of the shofar was booked for 1 August 2014, exactly one year from the time the prophecy was given.

The following week a received a number of ram’s horns from the SALOM SHOFARS factory in Brits (North-West province, South Africa) that I could take along to hand out to people in Madagascar.
I sensed that we should be leaving for Madagascar on the 29th of July 2014. Five days prior to our “sensed” departure date, we still did not have ANY funding to undertake this mission. Although our stay and meals in Madagascar were arranged for, we needed to pay for our own flight tickets to get there and back. As I again checked with the airlines, the cost amounted to just below R20, 000.00. (Twenty thousand South African Rand/One thousand nine hundred US Dollar/One thousand five hundred Euro)
I sensed that I should book the tickets online, and go to my bank to make sure that my bank card was still in order for use abroad. At the bank I received waiting card number 5 (number 5 prophetically indicating grace) When my number was called, I was called to counter number 5. (grace) Everything was fine with the card and from the bank I went into Shoprite to buy something. There I ran into a friend and dear sister in the Lord, who is in fulltime prophetic ministry. We have ministered together and witnessed the power of the Lord together on several occasions before. We were just exchanging what we were currently busy with and experiencing in our walk with God when she said that the Lord in telling her that something about our upcoming mission is not in place and she asked me what it was. I told her that we were all ready to go, the flight tickets were booked and all, but that we were still trusting the Lord to provide. She said: “Ah, then that is it, the Lord is telling me that I should take care of it, how much is it?” Knowing that she was living in faith only and had no fixed income, I replied: “It is a lot of money, I can’t expect you to pay it” She said: “How much?” I said: “R20, 000.00” She said: “Well now isn’t that a confirmation, that is exactly what I have!” I said to her that she can’t give me all her last money, to which she replied: “the very same God to whom this money belongs, will again supply in all my need, He is forever been doing it. I am just obedient to His voice”
She went to her bank with me to withdraw the money and she was served at counter number 5 (grace again) Grace upon grace upon grace! She wishes to remain anonymous. God is so faithful!

All went well with the flight from Johannesburg International to the capital of Madagascar. From there to the east-Coast we were in for an adventurous one hour flight in a small 18-seater to the port-city of Tamatave on the East-Coast of Madagascar.

This was to be our base for the next 12 days.

The first 3 days of our visit were attended early morning pray and worship sessions at the local church of Pastors Patrick and Fara. The rest of the days were spent on compassing the city in the spirit, and fellowship with the local and other church-leaders. The Lord is busy equipping Pastor Patrick and Pastor Fara at a radical rate for the big end-time harvest to be collected. Currently they are also functioning as strong gatekeepers to the city of Tamatave.

Friday 1st of August 2014 was the first of my teaching sessions and we spent it on giving all attending an introduction and biblical background to the ram’s horn or shofar as instrument, as well as the modern day uses and users of the instrument.

We also looked at the different traditional sounds of the ram’s horn/shofar as well as the Christian parallel thereof.

On Saturday, 2 August 2014, we continued the teachings as we looked at the effect of sound in general, as well as the specific characteristics of sound of the ram’s horn/shofar. We also worked through the parallel between the process of constructing a ram’s horn/shofar (before it is useful in the hands of its owner) and the process of sanctification God puts us through before we become useful in His hands. We ended off with some principles to apply during this process of sanctification.

I was asked to minister to the local congregation on Sunday morning and at 15:00 we all gathered together in the centre of town for an open-air multi-denominational meeting where I was asked to do prophetic intercession and we declared and proclaimed the Word of God over the city and the nation of Madagascar.

Sunday evening we attended a service at the local mine where Gisela ministered prophetically.

Monday was a day of rest and reflection.

On Tuesday, 5 August we continued the teachings as we had an in-depth look at the modern day roles of intercessors, watchmen and gatekeepers.

We discussed the principles of prophetic intercession as well as the modern day practical use of the ram’s horn/shofar as instrument.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, we ended off the teachings with notes on the Hebraic roots of our Christian faith, understanding covenant, and we had a look at the importance of knowing how to navigate the Courts of Heaven, especially for intercessors, watchmen, gatekeepers and prophets to the nations.

During all of the teachings and ministering we witnessed God deliver and heal people in a powerful way, and my wife Hanlie connected and ministered to the woman and children in a very special way.

On Thursday, August 7, 2014, Gisela addressed a special meeting of church leaders and my wife and I also ministered to them prophetically.

On Friday, August 8, 2014, we drove to Foulpointe, about 70 km north of Tamatave, where a special baptism service was held.

For us, Saturday, August 9, 2014, was time to return to South-Africa, whilst Gisela, Gideon and the worship team prepared for their missions to the West Coast as well as the North of Madagascar over the next 30 days.

Powerful testimonies of repentance and reconciliation (also amongst church leadership) have already been received.

The Lord is raising up a powerful army in Madagascar!

Isiah 59:19  “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”
